About.

Connecting marketing practice with marketing education.

My career has always sat between theory and practice.

I started working in the industry in 2006 - by accident! - and during my career have worked across digital, communications, strategy, and business development. Alongside this I developed a passion for helping others learn and progress. I was first asked to lecture at a university within months of my own graduation, and a year later achieved a PGCE after I realised this was one of the directions I wanted to go in.

In the years since I've worked as a head of marketing at a sixth form college, held the same role at a housing organisation, and combined this practice with teaching at universities, on professional qualifications, and as part of apprenticeship programmes.

Today, I focus on teaching, assessment, quality assurance, and curriculum development, helping organisations create learning experiences that prepare marketers for the big wide world.

If you want to know more about my career so far you can see everything I've been up to on my LinkedIn profile.

Marketing education should be practical.

I strongly believe that good effective marketing education goes beyond teaching tools and tactics. I help learners understand why decisions are made, how evidence informs strategy, and how marketing contributes to organisational goals. In short, why the job isn't to just "post on Facebook".

I combine academic rigour with practical industry experience, meaning learners develop both knowledge and professional judgement.
