Teaching and learning.

Bringing marketing education to life

Alongside my work in assessment and curriculum development, I continue to teach across a range of educational settings.

I’ve always believed that the best marketing education combines theory with practical application.

Learners don’t just need to know what marketing frameworks exist. They need to understand when to use them, why they matter, and how they can be applied in real situations. I help learners make those connections.

Teaching experience

I achieved a PGCE in Post-compulsory Education and Training in 2011 and since then have taught marketing across apprenticeships, professional qualifications, undergraduate programmes, and postgraduate education. This includes working with organisations such as JGA Group, NBSL, NSBS, the University of Sunderland, and nesma.

My teaching experience spans Levels 3, 4 and 6 apprenticeships, undergraduate modules, and postgraduate programmes.

Learning that connects theory and practice

One of the biggest challenges in marketing education is helping learners move beyond tactics. Many marketers learn how to use platforms and tools but don’t always understand the thinking behind the decisions they make. Of course, some courses have the opposite problem and go so deep with theory that learners finish having never applied what they have learnt.

I aim to help learners develop a deeper understanding of marketing by linking academic concepts with real-world examples and professional practice.

More than delivery

Teaching is only one part of the learning process.

My experience in assessment, curriculum development, and quality assurance allows me to understand how learning programmes fit together as a whole. This broader perspective helps ensure teaching remains aligned with learning outcomes, assessment requirements and the needs of employers.

If you’re looking for an associate lecturer, guest speaker, workshop facilitator or programme contributor, I’d be happy to discuss your requirements.
